Happy Birthday Mom...

Happy Birthday Mom! Some of the important things my Mother has taught me are:

-Always remember that family is more important than friends. Friends are great, but family will be there when your friends move away.

-You don't have to agree with people, but you need to disagree in a respectful manner.

-No one else can tell you what you can accomplish.

-Motherhood is the greatest calling a woman can receive.

-Making your husbands lunch is a good thing. From the time I have been married, my Mom always encouraged me to make Greg's lunch. :-)

-Listening is more important than talking...Especially with your children.

-Your stronger than you think.

-Never take your marriage for granted, it's the most important relationship you have.

-Never let the world take away the twinkle in your eye.


I really hope I can become the kind of Mother my Mom was to me. I was not always an easy child, but my Mother managed in look in my soul and find something good and important. Much of the love and confidence I have for myself is because my Mother and Father believed I could accomplish anything. Now who wouldn't want a parent like that?

Baby Update...

Well I went to my first doctor's appointment yesterday. Everything is going great. The baby's heartbeat was 150. The doctor did a crown-to-rump measurement and thought my uterus seemed further along than 14 weeks. Therefore, I am going in for an Ultrasound on October 1st to get a more accurate due date. The picture I posted is of a baby at 14 weeks along, for those of you who are wondering what the baby looks like at this point.

On a funny side note, whenever we look at pictures like these online, Lindsey is always convinced it is our baby...and that the baby looks like a boy. Therefore, she is convinced we are having a boy. I try and explain that these are not pictures of our baby, these are just examples of what our baby would look like if we could see it. Lindsey does not believe me...she is convinced she is right. I always tell her that we are still going to love the baby, even if it is a girl. Lindsey always just smiles at me...

Golfer in Training...

There is a program here called The First Tee. Golfing coaches donate their time to help children (ages 8 and up) learn to golf. It is a wonderful program. Did I mention it is also free...which makes it even more wonderful.

Angela has gone with Greg several times to the driving range and hit balls before, however this program is 2X a week for an hour and a half a day. Before Angela went to the class, we talked about how these coaches were donating their time and that she needed to put forth extra effort and try to get all she could out of this class. The first class went so well. Angela hit 40 balls in the air and some of them went almost 50 yards. With each class she has improved.

I love it when my children go to a class and try hard even when it is not easy. I know that trying new sports can be frustrating, but their attitude can make all the difference. Angela has had such a great attitude this entire class, not every class is perfect, but she keeps trying and that makes all the difference.

Greg has been able to make it to all of her classes. Usually, I drop her off and then he arrives shortly after that from work so he can watch her golf. I know it makes Angela happy that her Dad hurries home from work just so he can watch her golf.
